The well trained, experienced technicians at Oliver-Ramsay Security are often horrified at the poor workmanship they encounter when coming to a new site. There are so many examples that it leaves us dismayed about practices in the industry generally.

Here is a very recent example.

You can clearly see that the wiring is in an appalling state, even though this is a fairly new installation.

-cut wires that don’t go anywhere

-wires connected incorrectly

-a haphazard mess, unable to be diagnosed

A board left in this condition will never function reliably and this was certainly the case here. It had to be rewired completely

Here’s the same panel after our technicians had finished rewiring it.

There was ultimately no problem with the board itself, just poor workmanship in wiring it.

Sadly, we see this all too often and it just ends up being an unnecessary cost in time, money and inconvenience.

Astonishingly, this is not the worst that we see.

Here’s a small list from recent history:

·        Bare, exposed 240V power wires (twice in the past few weeks)

·        Poorly positioned, focused and maintained cameras

·        Systems not designed for the purpose they are used for

·        Whole systems which never worked from day one

Getting the job done correctly in the first place by competent personnel who take pride in their work, will save you money in the long term and ensure that you get the benefits that your security system should provide.
